Layer Default to bottom layer

I have used photoshop for 10 years……..so I’m no dummy I may have accidentally qucik commanded something but I have no control over my layers anymore. When I try to move an object in layer 2 the layer palette jumps to the bottom layer and starts moving the objects in that layer – Anyone know what I need to do to resolve this

auto select check box in the move tool options bar.

Figured it out – Auto select layer was click on the dock menu at the top –
