Using Ellipse Tool

When I use the Ellipse tool to cut a portion of a picture it cuts the portion of the picture but I can’t paste it to a new picture. I am used to using photoshop home edition which allows you to paste the element you cut to a new picture.

Bob,

Make sure the feather is at zero (in the options bar, at the top of the screen). Then Edit / Cut. Click on the second picture, then Edit / Paste.

Thanks a million for your help. I tried selecting the Ellipse tool and it didn’t work. I then selected the Ellipse marquee tool and it works. As you can tell I am not a pro.
