It will not run on OS X, but it will run in the Classic environment under OS X, including the latest version of Panther.

I strongly advice you to upgrade. Of all the versions of Photoshop, you don’t want to have Photoshop 6 these days, It has a bug that prevents it from opening files created in Photoshop CS.

The upgrade price is a bargain.
