Hi,

In Photoshop CS 100% black (in CMYK) appears grey (about 70% black) on my calibrated Barco monitor. Why is this and is it possible to get my black black again?

Black generation and the profile that you are using is creating your confusion. 100K mapped to your working space is not 100K.

If you change the color settings to produce just black for your working space, you’ll get 100K, but I don’t recommend it.

Use a color fill layer to specify the color.
