Layer Efects as a seperate layer CS2

Hello

Is it possible to apply a layer effect to an object in a layer then transfer just the effect with out the original object to a new layer so that I can edit the effects by hand?

Any help would be appreciated

Right click on the sub-layer containing the effect and select "Create Layers".
