I cannot see the type when i add a type layer

the first few letters show up on the layer indication on the layer pallette but i cant see the type on the image. i have changed sizes, colors, type faces but nothing. its probably something simple but what is it? thanks

Pop a screenshot up on the web and tell us the link. It’ll be faster that way, I’d wager.

Just select your type tool, make the anomaly happen, then press PrtScrn. Then, File|New… accept the defaults, and paste. Post it up on the web.

Open the Character pallette; click on the little triangle to get the pallette menu; click on "reset character". One or another option somehow got set to a dodgy value.
