Batch processing skips levels

I attempted to do batch processing and recorded a series of actions the first of which is the levels command. However, when I start the action, it skips over levels and goes to the next item. What am I doing wrong? I am using PS CS on a MAC G4 Laptop, using OSX 10.3

not sure but could it be something like rgb levels to a cymk doc?

In the Actions palette is that step checked?
