round marquee tool problem

Hi all. My first post has to do with my round marquee tool in PSCS2.

When I select it and draw a rounded edge box and select blending options, whatever options I select will stay on that tool. In other words, If I close that doc and open a new one and select my round marquee tool, whatever blend options I selected for the last doc will automatically be
inserted into the new doc. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Thanks for the help. I’m fairly new to all of this so thanks.

Also, my settings for the rounded marquee tool at the time was
[shap layers] [rounded marquee tool] [create new shap layer]

This is the way the program runs. You will find it much easier to clear the tools than to have to continually reset the options every time you want to use them.

You can reset the preferences (the FAQ tells how) to set everything back to the default, but this is overkill for this situation.

Thanks Don. I’d like to add that once the pref’s is cleared you have to exit out of PS and run it again or your rounded marquee tool will not function properly. Or at least that’s the way it is for me.
