I’ve scanned film/slides in 16 bit color depth. When opening those files in Elements 2.0, got message that "This document is in an unsupported color depth. Convert to default color depth?" Any solution to this or do I need to allow the conversion? Is the supported color depth only 8 bit?

Thanks,
Cliff

Yes, Elements supports 8 bit only.

Cliff, many authorities say the difference between 16-bit color and 8-bit color is nearly imperceptible. I would continue to scan at 16 bit and archive those images for the day that you might move up to full Photoshop; in the meantime, I think you’ll find that Elements does a fine job with the 8-bit copy you’ll create when saying "Yes" to the conversion question.
