I’m trying to place an image on a wall within another image, if that makes sense? I’d like to place a picture on the wall in the ally. Any suggestions

There appears to be a problem with your link:

It works here.

That URL still generates the same warning message but i risked it anyway.

Copy the pihotograph that you want to place on the wall to your clip board.

Make an empty layer above your background layer and go to Filter/Vanishing Point. Create a grid following the plane of the wall.

Paste the image in the clipboard into the VP layer and use the VP Transform tool to drag it onto the Grid and Size it as required.

Hit Enter.

Hi Ann,

Thanks for taking the time. I can’t seem to make the Filter/Vanishing Point to work. I click on it, but when I go to the image, I can’t make it put the anchor points.

Thanks

Do you mean that you can’t set-up the Grid?

You need to use the "Create Plane Tool" (second one down) and then click on the four points that will mark the corners of your Grid.

Russell Brown has made several good tutorials on using VP which may help you: <http://av.adobe.com/russellbrown/VanishingPointMuseumSM.mov> <http://av.adobe.com/russellbrown/VanishedSM.mov>

After I have established the vanishing point, I cannot paste an image where I want to show the vanishing point, if that makes sense, all of the menu items are grayed out?

Thanks,

You paste it on the grid in the Vanishing point dialog window. Not on the original image.

Can somebody please tell me how to paste an image into another image using the Vanishing Point window. When I click to open the Vanishing Point from the filter menu, everything in the edit menu is grayed out. So how do I paste an image into another image using Vanishing Point?

Thanks

The edit-menu may be grayed out, but hitting command-v should still work.

I’ve noticed that the filter is only active when the Mode is RGB. Not CMYK.

That works, the only problem is that the image I paste using cmd-v is bigger than it’s source, and it’s much too big? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Make sure the ppi is the same.

make sure the pic is the correct size before you paste it.

Or You can select the transform-tool on the left-hand-side (sixth from the top) and scale and rotate the imported picture according to Yout needs in the vanishing point-window.

It just does not work; period. I resized to image to make it one half it normal size. As soon as I paste it, it grows over 50%. So I guess I just don’t do it, and I can forget all about this stupid Vanishing Point.

Thanks to all.

The transform-tool should still apply, no matter how big the pasted part is; grab one of the corner-handles and drag it inward.

Check that your size and ppi are the same for both images. If one is at 150ppi and the other is at 300, when you paste the 300 in, it will of course double in "size". Make sure both images are the same pixel dimensions and you should be fine.
