ImageReady good Photoshop bad

Yes, my Photoshop CS2 says "program error" but the same images load in ImageReady. That program was unable to transfer them to Photoshop in the normal way. Again "program error"

I loaded Photoshop Elements 2 but again got "program error".

Imac 20 ”G5 1 Gb ram

Mac os Tiger 10.4.8

And there’s a good chance that part of the file is corrupt (a part that Photoshop reads and ImageReady ignores).
