Why do my prints appear ‘Washed out’

I use photoshop elements 2(PS E2) with a G4 iMac running OSX 10.3.9 and an Epson R800. When I print photos from PS E2 they are ‘washed out’ versions of what was on the monitor however, when I transfer the same shots from PS E2 to iPhoto and then print, the result is fine. Am I doing something wrong?

Short answer, it probably has to do with colou r management and your print settings.

You may be better off asking this in the Elements forum:
