can’t open .dng files

In photoshop CS, i try to open raw files, .dng, and in the browse window, these files do not show up at all. In the open window, they show up as unreadble, and can be opened, but it asks for me to input width and height info, along with a lot of other stuff.
Any ideas on how to open these files?!

You need to update your version of ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) to ACR 2.4.

The earlier version that comes with Photoshop CS cannot read DNG files.

DO NOT attempt to instal more advanced versions than ACR 2.4, as newer versions do nor work in CS.
