Here’s what I’m trying to do, and what I’m getting.
Background:
I just took a trip with a group and I took about 1200 pictures. I’m trying to create a "web" album (which I’m actually going to distribute on DVD, that’s not the point) which will recognize/use the existing directory structure:
/date01/city/place01
/date01/city/place02
/date02/city01/place01
/date02/city01/place02
/date02/city02/place01
I would like to create an html structure that will:
a. mimic the filing structure in the web pages
b. mimic the filing structure in the thumbnails
c. only link to, but not resize or move the originals (MSIE will resize automatically), or enclose each pic in its own web "page" (which has the effect of screwing up IE’s ability to autofit large pictures).
As you folks probably know quite well, 1200 photos in a single directory doesn’t work very well in XP. The disk structure I have works very nicely, but I don’t feel like encoding 2400 links (thumbs and orig’s) by hand.
Any suggestions? It looks like PE2.0 isn’t going to give me that level of control… :^(
