I have PS 7 on a Pwr Mac G4, plenty of ram, etc. PS was opened as recently as five days ago, no problems. I’ve not made any downloads off the internet. Today I tried to open PS and this is the message I continually receive.

Application Launch Failed
The application "Photoshop" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "%<application><application><MathLib><>"

I’ve rebooted and the same warning appears. AI opens fine.

Can anyone help?

Patricia

What EXACT version of the OS? Have you applied the mandatory Photoshop 7.0.1 update?

Does it work if you create a fresh, new account and log in as a different user?

OS 10.4, and yes, I did the update several years ago to 7.0.1. I’m not sure if I have to completely reinstall at this point l or if that would do any good.

10.4.what? 10.4.11?

Does it work if you create a fresh, new account and log in as a different user?

That’s a standard troubleshooting procedure. Go to System Preferences (Apple menu), create a new account on your Mac, and log in to your Mac as a brand new user. Does the problem go away or persist?

First thing I would do is an Archive and Install.

I’m not sure that is enough space to do an A&I. How big is the drive?

Patricia,

How large is the drive? What is "plenty of ram"?

The percentage of free space is as important as the number of GB that are free.
