I am unable to using my typing tool

Yesterday, I could type all I wanted on my photos. Today when I started to type, nothing happened. My I-beam mark was there but no letters or numbers appeared. I have to get this project done asap and I am once again stumped. Hopefully, my new friends can help me.

One mistake I have made is trying to type with the same color text as my image. Another is using a font size so small I am unable to see it. Make sure the layer you are typing on is visible.
