Add layer mask

I am trying to use ‘Layer->Add layer mask->Reveal All’ option in Photoshop Elements 3.0. However, the ‘Add layer mask’ option is not available under ‘Layer’. Also there is no Layer Mask icon at Layers palette.

What do I need to do to use the ‘add layer mask; option.

PSE does not support layer masks. Masks can only be used on adjustment layers.

However, there are various workarounds. The best is to find a layer mask add on, which can be found in many places, often fo free. Look here: <http://www.cavesofice.org/~grant/Challenge/Tools/index.html>
