Photoshop resets its preferences

I have another issue with Adobe Photoshop, I have all the updates to date, and sometimes I launch the program and the preferences are all being reset to default. And I mean everything: Units, guide colors and so on…

Please let me know what is going on.

Do you close Photoshop properly (and wait a bit) before shutting down Windows?

One thing you can do, aside from shutting down properly, is make a copy of your "good" Photoshop Prefs from the Documents and Settings folder, and any time you need to reset or if they get reset by accident, just paste the "spare" Prefs file into the correct place in Documents and Settings. Then you will have everything back as you want it.
