Is it possible to dock the tool bar in Photoshop Elements 2.0? It is often in my way on the work surface.

Barbara,

Here are 3 ways to temorarily turn off the toolbar.

Double-click the blue at the top of the toolbar; double-click again to restore.

Window->Tools to close the toolbar; Window->Tools to open it.

Tab key closes toolbar and everthing else, leaving just the image window; Tab again to restore them.
