PS7 File Browser won’t display from DVD

The PS7 file browser will not display thumbnails for images burned to a DVD-R disk. It works fime for images on a CD-R, but if I have the DVD-R in the combo CD-DVD drive and click on that drive in the File Browser tree, absolutely nothing comes up, as if the disk were blank! The DVD-R disk is completely readable using Win XP file explorer and ThumbsPlus. What gives with the PS7 file browser?
