Default Save as Lower Case in PS3

Hi all, I’ve been bugged for a while by the fact that PS always unchecks the checkbox "Use Lower Case Extension" when saving a file, even though I specified in the preferences that I want PS to save default to lower case. Any idea why this is?

PS3 is ancient. Do you mean CS3 or something else.
