Since then, I did a re-install of PS6 for other reasons, and it showed up again, as I expected. So, I went to the registry and deleted the value for HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Photoshop.Image.6 (or 7, if on 7)\shellex\IconHandler; that again seems to fix the problem, losing the eye icon on my files but nothing else. The last time, I deleted the values for both entries in shellex. It doesn’t seem necessary to do both.
Anyway, I sure would like Cox and company to have another look.
