A colleague is moving to Illustrator exclusively as their work has changed, with work providing P/S CS (and nice twin CRTs). So they are offering their complete P/S 7.0 & a larger WACOM to me cheaply. I made do with the old A5 unit, which was a bit small for fine work.

Will also try XP Pro Remote-Desktop with it, but I’m not sure about both the latency (bandwidth would be copper gigabit) in terms of usability.

No, I had 256MB – and later does the same under 384MB.

Ah, that would be interesting.
Had done a few hours Googling (and learning a lot of new tricks too in the process, which I can’t wait to try out), some more to do.

Only as backup, ie, 2 PCs & 1 monitor.

Thanks, that gives me a range of options.

I don’t need much more than was available in 4.1 – only for it to work 🙂 Lots of artwork & old photos, slides & so on to work on. —

A KVM switch would be a better choice. They’re made to connect one monitor, keyboard, and mouse to multiple machines, and to switch them as a group. You can get them with PS/2 or USB connections, for 2, 4, or 8 machines.
