I am getting error messages that say "some files are missing that PS needs to run". So, I need to reinstall. I’m fairly new to MAC. I have a power mac that is over one year old running tiger 10.4.11. Bridge seems to work ok. Do I just drag Photoshop out of Finder into the trash and put my CS3 disk in? Is that all there is to it?

You must uninstall CS3 using the uninstaller then reinstall.

read this first it may solve your problem. <http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.2ccf1da6> although its hard to say with so little info you have supplied.

Thank you, Buko. I was trying not to write a rambling question. I have a MAC Pro running 10.4.11 and PS CS3. The problem started after I tried to do one of the Apple Updates. Bridge works fine, Photoshop opens but won’t open files and says "one or more files Photoshop needs to run are missing". When I put my CS3 disk in and click on "Setup", there is the option to install or reinstall. I guess the crux of the problem is I’m worried that if I delete or uninstall Photoshop and Bridge, I might lose my photo files in Bridge. Can’t I just do the "reinstall" and have it fix what it needs to repair and leave everything else intact?

I did the "reinstall" and it worked fine. then I downloaded all the updates from the last year or so. This is what I would have done when I had PCs but I was worried Mac was different because a guy in our mall’s Apple store said I couldn’t do that and that I had to delete Photoshop. But I just didn’t want to do that. Thanks again for your help.

No, you won’t —unless you have saved files inside the Bridge or Photoshop folder, a highly unlikely possibility.
