How do I make 2 layers with distinctive colors look merged so you don’t see clear lines like borders?

Use overlapping layer masks with partial transparency, to make the region through which the blending changes from 100% one layer over to 100% the other layer significantly wider.

Possibly also alter one or both of the images to bring the colors closer together; whether this is right or even feasible depends very much on the images and the intended result.
