jpeg/bmp pictures don’t appear in PS6.0

I just installed PS 6.0 (used PS 5.5 LE before). When I double-click a jpeg and/or bmp image, PS application opens but the file doesn’t appear. It works if I open the file from within PS. What do I do wrong?
