PS v4.0 keeps crashing with Win XP Home

Whenever I begin working on images in PS v4.0 the program crashes. It worked fine when I used it in Win 98 or 2000. Is there a compatibility problem? A patch that will fix it? I think I was able to tell Win XP to read PS v4.0 as Win 98, but that didn’t work. Any ideas?

I think you need the 4.01 patch goerge, and i seem to recall about it not liking over 512 (or is that 1 gig) of memory on a system.
