Slideshow freezes in Photoshop Album 2.0.1

When I try to view a slideshow of even two pictures the program displays the "Building slideshow …" message box and just hangs (I killed it after about ten minutes). This started happening about 3 weeks ago when I passed about 1800 photos in the catalog. I now have 2144 photos and still I can’t see a slideshow.

Does anyone has any idea?
