I have a postscript routine that I wrote many years ago to print labels for name badges. The routine positions, scales etc. 1,2 or 3 lines of text, prints registration marks and paths for cutting on a vinyl cutter and optionally also positions an EPS file. The output file is either sent to a postscript printer or imported into CorelDraw using the interpreted PostScript filter and then printed and cut from CorelDraw.

The problem that I have is that if I create an EPS file in CorelDraw from a vector file created in CorelDraw all works well but if I attempt include a bitmap EPS file I get a limitcheck error. The same bitmap EPS file imports fine into CorelDraw or PhotoShop etc.

I am using the routine suggested in the PostScript Language Reference Manual to include the EPS file.

I am hoping that one of the experts on this group may have an answer.

Are you using clipping paths?

If a clipping path is too complex it sometimes throws up this error. I assume other complex vectors would also show the same problem.

Importing the file into PS wouldn’t cause a problem as PS would rasterise it.
