I have a picture of a person and want to replace the all background by a single color, say red. What is the best way to do it?

Thanks,

John

Probably the simplest way is to create a mask that just selects the person. Then you can put the person over any background you like.

There are lots of ways to make a complex mask, so here’s one: first look at the channels in the image. If there is one channel that shows more of a contrast between the person and the background, make a copy of that. Invert it, and fill it in where the person is. Then feather it, and make it into a mask. Now you’ve got a mask that selects the person out from the bkgnd.
