Hi
I have just been given 2 very simply graphics jobs each wanting 500 copies printed to be ready on the same day for delivery (junk mail). Is it possible to connect 2 seperate printers and have Photoshop print both designs at the same time?

Absolutely – just select multiple copies in the print dialog, and print away. This works the same on Mac or PC.

BTW – have you heard that Epson makes ink cartridges with disappearing ink? Fry’s uses them to print receipts, but they might be good for junk mail as well, since the person receiving it will have a useful sheet of blank paper 🙂

HI Mike, Are you sure of your answer? To print 2 things at a time you need 2 printers. Maybe you can get by with one computer if one printer is USB and the other parallel port. That may well work. Otherwise you need two computers. In this instance its only 500 so its a really short run. Maybe he wants to run it on a consumer inkjet.

Yes. And you can have more than one printer connected to a computer at the same time and they can all be printing at the same time.

Maybe you can get by with one computer if one

The type of ports involved is not an issue. I have a laser printer (which everyone else in the office can use too) and an inkjet printer, both connected via USB, printing at the same time.

And that is where I went wrong….I never thought of having more than one USB printer. I suppose its possible to have several printers going on USB ports

Well, that’s that nicely sorted! I have access to another USB printer. My main worries were if I could print 2 seperate things from the same prog, ie PS.

Invisible ink? thats a novelty, but I think you might be having a laugh? But I know what you mean about receipts!
