Hi group,
Sorry, I know I’m a bit off topic here. I am a desktop publisher who uses PS a lot. I’m thinking of an LCD monitor and have noticed that the Dell 2001 FP gets great reviews. Have any of you had experience with this monitor? I’m wondering how reliable it is over the longer term. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

LCDs are fine if you either a) have a lot of money to spend to get ones that will display colour correctly for printing or, b) don’t want to do any printing.

Yes, I knew there would be a downside to this. Is there any color correction that can be done to produce accurate colors?

Better, rather than accurate. You can use a spider, like the Gretag MacBeth. OTOH, when you add that cost to the cost of the LCD….

I am looking for a new monitor, which will probably be an NEC 27" which has fairly high resolution. (2560 x 1440) At that resolution I will not be able to read the menu items and I anticipate that other programs will have fonts too small to see. My tentative solution os to use two monitors and keep only the images on the high resolution screen. The sales clerks have told me this is easy. But, I am wondering whether anyone here has gone that route.

Win7 Pro, 3 monitors ( 1920×1080, 1920×1080 and 1680×1050).

Use main (calibrated) for work, 2nd for toolbars and such, 3rd for news/mail/word’n & bridge.

Not a single problem.

As earlier mentioned- updated drivers are a must.
