Hello I have a new Epson R-200 and would like to know if I can increase the ‘C,M,Y,K’ Gamut to C,Light C,M,Light M,Y,K as my printer has six inks not four I think this will improve the print out’s (or is my printer automatically doing this????)

I am using PS 7.0

You are correct the printer driver is doing this automatically. The Epson Printers tend to do a good job of this.

You may still want to do some calibrations if you are going to use it as a proofing device. 🙂

Proofing is what professional graphic artist do to make sure that there customers don’t try the old "Hey That is not the color I wanted!" trick. That is they make a print for the customer to sigh off on. To do this you have to have dead on color.

The process involves software, scanners and charts and is very expensive to do right. Unless you are printing for a living from your R-200 it is likely to expensive to do it. This doesn’t mean that you can’t have good color it just means that you won’t have perfect color.

Each person decides. There is no "one" use for a newsgroup.

Only a very silly person looks for friends in a newsgroup.

Give that man a cigar – my point precisely!

So a newsgroups job CAN be to educate Mr.McMahon, or anyone else that poses a question, regardless of how advanced or trivial that question is!

Visiting other application newsgroups will reveal that this is in fact the most popular and widely accepted use!

This group seems to be an exception, trolling seems to be most popular here…

What? This isn’t a dating agency? You seem to make a point of missing the point – Todd wasn’t suggesting people were actually looking for friends – it’s an expression for Christs sake!

Sheeesh!
