In Photoshop CS, when I try to save a PSD image as a JPEG, the extension does not change; the .psd extension is retained. If I first change the extension, the filename changes (to whatever jpeg image happens to be under the cursor when the list of jpeg images comes up). In earlier versions, the SAVE AS function automatically changed the extension.
