I have found the new shadows and highlights adjustment to be so useful that I am using it on virtually every image. It would be nice to be able to have it come up in a single keystroke. As it can’t be placed on an adjustment layer and an action won’t allow me to leave the tool open I am at a loss as to how I might gain quicker access to this.

Any ideas would be appreciated. I am sure that I am missing something here but nothing is coming to me at the moment.

Thanks

Jim

Press Alt + Shift + Ctrl + K (Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts…). You’ll find the Shadow/Highlight filter under Application Menus > Image > Adjustments. Give it a shortcut, if you can find one that isn’t already taken. 😉

You should be able to "leave the tool open" as an action. I haven’t tried it for this command but for any other command with a menu just click the second icon slot from the left for this step after you’ve made the action.

Try this and let us know if it does the trick.

That also worked perfectly! Thanks for the info. That icon is not one that I have ever made the time to explore. Pretty slock.
