Please help, Photoshop 7.0 question

I have the 7.0 program, but only for a short time and I am not very familar with it. I am kind of learning as I go. Except I really need to be able to lighten a photo–and for the life of me can’t figure it out. If someone could please help me out–I would greatly appreciate it!

Basic ways, Image/Adjustments/Brightness-Contrast
Or Levels generally better (try middle slider only).

Lots more sophisticated ways like duplicate layer using Screen as blending mode, can choose Opacity level.
