I have a .psd with many layers. How can i flatten a single layer after adding a style via copy or after filling it with a color?

Keep in mind i dont want to flatten the entire image.

A couple ways:

Make an empty layer above and link them and Merge Linked. Or make an empty layer below (Ctrl-click on new layer icon on bottom of Layers Palette)and Merge Down.
