Save for web not working

File > Save for web isn’t working I get the following error message

"Could not complete the export command because of a program error"

I have tried deleting the prefs file and now im stumped, any help would be much appreciated.

I am using windows 2000 on a recent computer with lots of RAM.

P.S. Adobe support is about as much use as a chocolate teapot, you would think, having spent a not inconsiderable sum of one of their products, they would show a modicum of decency and not ask for your credit card details before helping you.

did you delete your PS preferences or your save for web preferences? They are different beasts!

ok, the plot thickens, thanks to grass hopper.

My save for web preferences file doesn’t exist, not sure why photoshop isn’t creating this, any ideas? or is there a way to force it to create one?

yes. Per the FAQ entry for delete/reset PS preferences <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?13@@.ef4a07f/0>, the first reply to that thread is specific for SFW preferences.
