Hi,

For a personal greeting card I want to create something like the following url:

Can anybody tell me how to do this or give me some tips in Photoshop. Or is there a better program to do this? Using photshop I already know how to create the halftone raster gradients.

I played around with this because I love the design. What worked best for me was to use Illustrator and draw in the shapes roughly with the pencil tool (putting in a lot of points by moving in and out while drawing the shape). Then I used the roughen effect with smooth checked. Punk and bloat might help too, depending on what you start with.

Question for you – I used to know how to make the halftone raster gradients but haven’t done it in a long time and now I can’t find the right settings. Mind giving a summary.

Hi,

The gradients I created using Photoshop, there is an effect with halftone. I dont know exactly how I do it. But you have to draw a circle using the selection tool. Press the Q (quick mas) an dapply the halftone effect (multiple times??).

Another question about the image. In the upper left the background using filled using small orange and darker orage. And there is a brown gradient or something. Do you know how to create the brown gradient???

Do you know which font is used?

Don’t think it’s really a gradient – looks like a light orange layer over a brown layer and both have strokes on their edges. If it is a gradient, you’d want to use Illustrator (or other vector program) and create a blend. Basically create a line in beginning color and one in the ending color, select them both, and use the menu choices for a smooth blend from one to the other

Try http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/ . There are several different fonts.

Addendum:

The different thing about a blend is you can used curved lines, lines of any shape really, and create a gradient that conforms to the shape.

Sorry, didn’t keep anything I played around with & a little too busy to go back to it. Why create the exact same thing? Just do something inspired by it.
