When I close a file after doing some work on it RAM does not return to the previous level and after closing either a big file or several my RAM totally disappears. The only way I can get back to my original value is to close Photoshop and reopen it.
System: Win2K; AMD 1600XP+; 768 Meg RAM.
Viruses are not an issue: I have never had a virus on this machine and I’ve been running Avast and Nod32 antivirus software anyway – they find nothing.
Because of other problems with Win2K I have reinstalled it 3 or 4 times since last Fall, this problem with Photoshop has always existed in both versions I’ve used and this goes back to when I first built this machine, about 3 years ago. It happens to be getting critical now, since I am working with much larger files than before.
All help is much appreciated.
