Saving to a JPEG cuts off a few characters of the image name

When I save a jpeg, PS cuts off a few characters of the name and then adds the extension. How can I stop this? PLEASE.

A sample name is: 20040711_114107_037_10D_S1-8s_f-22_Z260.psd It is saved as: 20040711_114107_037_10D_S1-8.jpg

This can be manually corrected but is a real pain.

go into save for web, look for the save prefrences (it’s in a dropdown box) uncheck mac & unix compatibility.
