I am new to photoshop.I just bought a new scanner and impoted a picture into Photoshop.I did some resizing and now I want to save as JPEG. How do I do this? Everytime it will only give me the option to save as a psd. file. Should I be able to save as anything such as a tiff or even targa?
I am not sure what is wrong here.

To go to jpg you should make sure the color mode is RGB (image>mode) and flatten the image. Then you can save.

I don’t think Save for Web comes until version 6, and it is an easier way to do this.
