Left click selects layer???

Hello everyone,

I did something with photoshop 7 and now whenever I left click on an object on the canvas it automatically selects the layer. I used to be able to simple select the layer and move the object around on the screen without having to click directly over it. I cannot find the setting to change it back.

Please help!

Hello! hit V to go the move tool uncheck the first box in the Option bar: the one that says "Auto Select Layer"
