When I select a tool with more than one option on the toolbar (i.e. Clone tool)via the mouse in PS 7.01, I always get the flyout for the other tools (like I’m shift/selecting the tool. What do I do to return to the default of clicking to choose without the flyout?

Well, all I can think of is, reseting the presets or trashing the prefs.

It doesn’t have to do with the Preferences as far as I can tell. Let me make sure I’ve explained my problem correctly. If I left click on the Lasso tool to select it from the toolbar, it doesn’t just select it, the flyout with the 3 types of Lasso tool comes out and I have to select the one I want every time. I’ve never had this problem with tool selection before.
Thanks for trying Ed.

have your changed your settings on your mouse? right clicking on a tool should open the flyout for the other tools.

Also, if the tool you want is already on the tool bar you don’t need to reselect from the flyout, even though the flyout appears. (This isn’t a fix to the problem, just a workaround – I recall someone posting the same problem a few weeks ago, but can’t recall the details.)
