I am doing some photo printing on an Epson R1800 printer out of PhotoShop CS3.

When I send the image to the printer to print the last message window I get before the job starts tells me:

"Some PostScript settings will be ignored (Interpolation, Calibration, Encoding) because a non-PostScript printer is being used"

and I am prompted for a YES/CANCEL choice before the job will start printing.

Can anybody translate the meaning of this message for me?

Just ignore it. It tells you that certain PostScript settings aren’t used because you don’t use a PostScript printer, which is pretty obvious. It’s like starting your car, which then tells you ‘Four wheel drive isn’t used, because this is a two wheel drive only car".

Here it is in English:

"You do not own a PostScript printer.

In the Print dialog, you checked some options that only apply to PostScript printers. You do not own a PostScript printer. Because you checked some options that only work with PostScript printers, some of the options you checked will not do anything."
