is it possible to make text appear as text when the picture is exported to html after I slice it up? Google isn’t going to be indexing anything if all the texts are images. If imageready/photoshop can’t do it, can dreamweaver do it? I know about selecting the slice and selecting the "no image" option, but on export it just leaves a big blank white hole in the selection and because of the shade of the picture, using a background color just doesn’t work. it would be so nice if imageready or photoshop could just do it automagically

Sorry, it’s not possible. Just copy and paste the text from Photoshop to the HTML.
As long as you have your splices in the right place, it should be easy.

No. but you could make you image without text then create a table and put the image into the table as a background. Now put the text in the table or create nested tables using dreamweaver and presto its html and search engine friendly.

The problem with the world is that everyone is a few drinks behind.

Good tip. Also don’t foget to ALWAYS use ALT tags with text for all your images. Not only will they be searchable, but they’ll also be available to text based browsers and screen readers for the blind.
