I’m having a problem re-sizing a graphic that I created. The detail is lost when I re-size. Here is what I’m trying to do. I’m creating a type effect that works on large size type. I set my type at 350. At a smaller size the effect doesn’t come out right. So, I’ve created a canvas that is 1200px by 500px with a 72 resoltion setting because I’ll be using on the web. Once I finished the effect and go to re-size the image, all the detail of the effect is more or less lost. I use constrain proportions and re-size to 300px by 125px. Is there a better way to re-size that keeps the quality and detail of the larger image size?

Also, I’m not very familiar with the history pallete, but heard there is a way to capture the steps you use creating a graphic. I would like to be able to copy and paste the information into a word document. Basically, I am trying to save the steps I use into a word document as a tutorial to refer back to if needed on how a graphic was created? How can this be done? What is the best method?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -D-

Rasterise (layer menu) the text layer before you resize it. You could make a new action and record your steps to replicate them at will. If not familar with actions? try the help pages.
