CS4 raw not working since update.

From Bridge CS4 when I want to open up an image in Camera RAW I now get an error message.

*Camera raw editing is not enabled.

*Camera raw requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature.

This has been working OK up until I downloaded and installed the current camera raw update.

In Bridge if I go to Camera Raw preferences I still get the same message

Ps and bridge still work and I can open an image from Bridge to PS.

How does one go about enabling camera raw again?

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS4\File Formats
I have opened up all my CS4 products Fl, DW and PS

Will now load up another copy of PS CS4 on the other PC and see what files were actually updated and copy the old files back over to this PC.
Well this PC is in need of a clean install 🙂

Well that is were it is supposed to be according to Adobe. But make sure the old version was removed. Again renaming doesn’t work it has to be moved out of the Adobe file tree or deleted.

Any more than that I’m out of my area of knowledge.

Ended up doing an uninstall and having a look at what was left over folder wise and removing them, then reloading PS that fixed the problem. Did delete a couple of folders and when there was a problem restored them from the recycle bin.

maybe CS4 is going to have as many glitches as CS3.

I did not experience a single glitch in CS3
with the exception of installing a required update to install Bridge which took 2 tries
(using win xp sp3)
