This usually happens only when the update finds an invalid serial number. Call Adobe at their support number, give them your valid serial number and they’ll fix you right up.

My apologies Alan.
That’s the usual reason the update won’t work.
I suggest you give Adobe a call or check their knowledge base for info. Again my apologies.

No problem, I did have a problem doing the upgrade from Photoshop 6, for some reason it did not remove 6 from my computer, so was wondering if I had a problem with the computer

Adobe updates don’t remove the previous version from your computer. Many people have more than one version installed.

When I opened a picture, it tried to use Photoshop 6 but reported a terminal error, that’s how I found that it was still on the system. Win XP did not have it on the "add/remove list" so I had to remove it manually. Which probably means that there are still references in the back somewhere….

Hi Alan
I suggest you uninstall Ver 7 and reinstall Ver 6. Then use Add/Remove progs to get rid of Ver 6 completely.
After that you should be able to load Ver 7 and 7.01 without problems. OR was Ver 7 an upgrade ?
If so I’m stuck !

If version 7 was an upgrade just use the disc from version 6 to validate the upgrade. PS will allow a valid CD as the check for an upgrade.
