Hi, I saved a path but when I click the path pop out menu there’s nothing about loading a path. What am I doing wrong?

And for a good reason.

There is no "load path" in the path palette flyout.

What exactly are you trying to do?

Turn a path into a selection?

If so: path palette flyout>make selection

Paste a path from somewhere else?

If so, from where?

We need more info to help.

I’m sorry for the lack of details. I traced an image with the path option under the pen tool. it’s a closed path, should I be able to save and load the selection? It seems to save the selection but I can never load it.

When you click on the path, it is a selected path, not a selection. To make it a selection, there is a button under the path menu that does this. You can use this selection on any layer. If you want to use it in a new image, save the selection (it will save as a channel) and drag this channel to another image. You can then load this channel as a selection in the new image.

Your messages have helped so much, I really appreciate it! I do have one more question and I hope it’s not stupid. Say you turn a path into a selection, can you turn the selection back into a path if it needs adjoining? I do have a book but it doesn’t go into much detail about this topic.
